BuzzKill
Currently there isn't a way to set a default crop size. For now, you're stuck with getting your dimensions by way of the status bar. Ash
There is a way around this. 1. Open the image you wanna crop. 2. New blank image, when PDN ask width and height, enter the "crop size" you want. 3. On the new image--Add new layer--select all(ctrl+A)--copy(ctrl+C). 4. Go back to the image you wanna crop. 5. Add new layer. 6. Paste(ctrl+V) on the new layer. 7. select the layer with the image you wanna crop. 8. You will see the "size/area" you want still active. 9. Use to move the selection around (do not resize it). move until you are happy with it. 10. Crop to selection. :Crop: Done. If you need to resize with the same aspect ratio HOLD SHIFT KEY when resizing. larsjn
Thank you, that's a OK solution. But it would be nice to have a crop-function, like in photoshop, where you can type the size in px/cm/inch and the resolution in dpi.
willgoss
I like you feel that a crop to size is important... I use rectangular selection tool, which I position at the upper left corner, pull down to a rectangle of the size relationship I want for printing. Example pull to 1200 px by 800 px for a 4" by 6" picture. Now click on the Move Selection tool and stretch or move the rectangle into the size and position for cropping, then select from top menu, Image-Crop to Selection. This is quick and simple.... I believe it's on the roadmap. Quote The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.Amy: But how did it end up in there? The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.

I believe it's on the roadmap. I hope so. Although I love Paint.NET there are some things that I don't like and that happens to be one of them.
