Yata
I found this photoshop tutorial and I cannot replicate it to be done in PdN so far. Could any of you look over this and possibility make a tutorial? Yata
I was considering the waterdrop and bubble tuts, but they do not give the same amount of detail the finished product of the PS tut gives. MiguelPereira
i'm going to see the radial blur source and see if i can change it to just put the image rounded there's no tut to make that isn't? Ash
Tips: You can not, should not follow Photoshop's steps. And it's better not to read the PS tut sometimes, cuz it will get your mind set, and get stuck. (you will try to do things PS style and not PDN style) Just look at starting pic and ending pic. And try to work on your own way. Like: http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=4836 & http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=5257 Many other plugins would do the job, but will take more layers and adjustments. Yata
Your very wrong, no, make that completely wrong. By reading and trying to reproduce Photoshop tutorials, you bring a new aspect into Paint.NET, you find new ways to do the said effect and you find new techniques. The hollywood effect you posted has nothing to do with this. Hollywood effect from PS tut = uH & me not reading the tut but reproduced the effect = We were able to BRING new aspect to PDN. = Find new ways to do the said effect & new techniques. = Hollywood effect PDN style. Should not follow PS stpes = make you won PDN stpes. And it's better not to read the PS tut sometimes "Cuz It will get you mind set" Rolls eyes cuz seems you only read what you wanna read. just as how you quoted me just now. But whatever, I am just offering tips, opnions and maybe try to help out PDNers. With PDN style..(not PS) Do whatever you like, But since PDN does NOT have all the same tools as PS. Good luck following PS tuts. Quote All creations Ash + Paint.NET [ Googlepage | deviantArt | Club PDN | PDN Fan ]
Yata
The way you wrote it was confusing so don't get irritated with me. I will follow PS tuts because I like to challenge myself. And making your own PDN steps is the point behind reading a PS tut in the first place. Lets stop fighting, shall we? MiguelPereira That's really nice! It seems like you need to make it more transparent though, maybe add a bulge? Ash
It's still WiP but this is what i got update guide me from here please The glass glare should not be at that spot. If you wanna keep at that spot, the shadow should point at upper right. Which will not match with the ground you picked....(from the PS tut..) Which the PS tut guy was wrong about the shadow too... Like I said before, Take the idea, Not the steps or background. Keep trying Quote All creations Ash + Paint.NET [ Googlepage | deviantArt | Club PDN | PDN Fan ]
MiguelPereira
yeah you were right i just fliped the shadow layer think that a tut is doable? at this point i mean i still have to tune some things regarding the reflection Quote [The stock on my sig is a photo I took not a render from Splatter] [My deviantART][My Gallery][My Space]
cjmcguinness
I came across a very similar PS tut a while back that I tried to recreate... Glass Ball It uses a slightly different method, perhaps combining elements of the two and a bit of PDN creativeness might help. Anyway, I'm going to have a go at reproducing this and will post results.
Ash
You will need to flip the background too for the shadow to look more correct. Reflection on the orb should include the ground too, not just the sky. (at least I can't see it there) Reflection of the sky should be move higher.....uh....how should I say this.....the orb should not reflect 360 degrees of the sky line and the land. Hope that make sense. And a few small adjustments. But it's the idea that counts!! Looks quite nice already, go ahead a do a tut I came across a very similar PS tut a while back that I tried to recreate...Glass Ball It uses a slightly different method, perhaps combining elements of the two and a bit of PDN creativeness might help. Anyway, I'm going to have a go at reproducing this and will post results. That look cool too, and I think PDN can do it as well.
