Yep...just like any program.

Paint net uses it's own "Project" filetype with the extension ".pdn", which only paint net can use, so save it as (I recommend) a .png.

I would recommend that, if the picture has multiple layers, you save it as both a .pdn and a .png. That way you can come back to it later and edit the individual layers.

oh, i saved it as a .jpg

can i go back and edit anything?

Not unless you already closed PDN. If you still have it open, you can still save it as a png and get the full effect, but if you already closed it, your stuck with jpg. But that won't be much of a loss if you if it was a picture taken by a digital camera or a scanned image (you'll hardly notice the difference).

no its still open, but im content with what i have, one last thing, i downloaded the beta version and it said something about expiring, is this true?

i guess i should just download the regular version when this happens

or stay with the beta

will i loose anything when it expires?

I always download the latest beta version. There will be a newer version avalabele before it expires.

4.0 will be comming out around 2008, but there will be plenty of beta versions before that.

oh good, srry this has gone so off topic but i just like to know things before i really get into this program, but i do have one last question, how do u install plugins?
