Not able to open Saved files!

Recommended Posts

After I work on a file and I save it. When I try to open the file again I get the following error message: "The file is corrupt or was saved with a newer version of Paint.NET"

I have attached the error message and My Paint.net version below.

Thanks for your help.

By the looks of it you are using a very old version of paint.net and trying to open a file made with a newer version of paint.net.   You either have to update your paint.net to the newest version or not open files made from a newer version in your older version of paint.net.

Wow. That is an 8 year old version of Paint.NET. It is not supported anymore at all.

Try installing the latest version and try again.

And PLEASE enable the auto-updater! (or rather, please don't disable it)

As you'll note in the rules, we cannot support old versions of Paint.NET.  It's nothing against you, but quite simply, old versions of the program have problems that have been solved in the interim.

I'll lock this now.  If you still have problems with this issue in a current version of the program, feel free to open a new thread.  :-)  Thanks!

The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.
Amy: But how did it end up in there?
The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.
River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.
