awen Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Hello folks, I don't want to nag or something, but I'm curious about the .NET word in Paint.NET name, as Microsoft .NET guidelines states the following: Do not use "Microsoft .NET" or ".NET" in the name of your products, services, or devices. Source: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/legal/intellectualproperty/Trademarks/Usage/net.aspx Or it's enough to name product "Paint.NET" instead of "Paint .NET" to make no violation? Thank you for your response. Quote
Ego Eram Reputo Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Rick (Paint.NET Developer) has a close association with Microsoft. I'm sure he has either conformed to the requirements or has explicit permission to use .NET in the name.
