plop
Hi, I launch Paint.net latest version, click on "Plus" in the colors form, then it crashes. Error is "System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt." Why ? I can't use it :-( I have tried reboots, and uninstalls/re-install several times. Logfile is attached. Thank you. pdncrash.txt
Ego Eram Reputo
System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. You may have a bad memory module, or possibly a failing hard drive. The reboots and re-installs are not going to help here as you likely have a hardware issue. The only way I know to test memory modules them is to swap them out with a known good one. Other than that - try your local PC repair shop to see if they can test them & replace as required. JamesQMurphy
I was getting the same exception, with the same "other memory is corrupt" message. It was happening to me whenever I tried to change the Anchor setting on the Canvas Size option. For me, it turned out to be an issue with my NVidia drivers. I went to the AMD website and upgraded my version of Catalyst Control Center to the latest (version 13.4 as of this writing). Problem solved. From what I've read on other sites, the NVidia drivers can cause this exception in other applications. If you are also using NVidia display drivers, try upgrading them. Hope this helps.
