Reinstallation

Recommended Posts

Recently, I had to reformat my computer. Basically I had to reinstall the OS and other such things. When it came to PDN's turn to be reinstalled I got, as expected, the error saying I needed .NET framework. So, I downloaded that. THEN, I attempt to open PDN but it gives me this:

Problem is... I have Windows XP. I've used PDN on this computer with the same stuff, so I have no idea why it won't work. Someone please help! Thanks! :)

Have you installed Service Pack 2 yet?

You may need to reinstall SP2 if you just installed XP.

To check, right click on My Computer and choose Properties from the menu. On the General tab, under System it should tell you the service pack level of your operating system.

If you have not installed Service Pack 2 yet, just go here:

So install what it offers you, restart, then run Windows Update again ... it'll pop up eventually after prereqs are satisfied, from what I understand.

In any event this is not a Windows support forum, so please keep the discussion here to Paint.NET only.

Well, I went to that link ^ and the only way to download it is through the updater... so I go there, and it finds all of the updates for me and there is nothing there that says service pack 2... :(

Sorry, my mistake. I edited in the correct URL.
