Gtuned
I've been using PDN For a while, and theres something i just noticed, that Gradients and Vignettes often leave a JPG Artifact to the pictures, like the color isn't smooth and the bars of color are visible, Is it just paint.net or my monitor ? it's starting to get annoying cause it's the first things i see on my pictures. BoltBait
If you are seeing visible banding on a gradient, you may want to try using a Frosted Glass (1) on the gradient after you draw it. Gtuned
Banding was the word i was looking for, and i've tried that, guassian blur, but it still shows up.
BoltBait
No, not Gaussian Blur. Try Frosted Glass of radius 1. This will eliminate the obvious banding. Quote Download: BoltBait's Plugin Pack | CodeLab | and a Computer Dominos Game
Gtuned
I know, but i've tried that gaussian blur and other stuff, not at the same time, but it still shows the bands, and when i zoom in i can clearly see the bands too, im starting to think its my monitor, which won't be good. pyrochild
Frosted Glass -Maximum scatter radius: play with this setting -Minimum scatter radius: 0.0 -Smoothness: 8 It has nothing to do with your monitor. Gtuned
Still does it, and i looked at other gradients and i can still see faint bars.
pyrochild
A computer display can only show a finite number of colors. There is no such thing as a perfect gradient on a computer, as that would require an infinite number of colors between the 2 endpoints of the gradient. The best you can hope to do is to dither it, which is what the Frosted Glass effect does. Like I said, you have to play with the setting until it looks good. Note that I said "good," not "perfect."
