supersoni183
I need some help on getting the sword to take on the "on fire" effect. I have a stock flame image here: And the guy with the sword: Any suggestions on getting the sword to look like its on fire? I have tried messing with the layer properties here: Including combinations of screen, additive, glow, lighten, and multiply. And any combo of any two of those! And I still have nothing. Any help? supersoni183
You mean, like this? Almost Exactly!!!! Maybe Covering more of the sword, and having the fire go more upwards... Still really close to what i want!!! Quote Gallery
BoltBait
OK, here's how you do it in 5 easy steps... First, install the Alpha Mask plugin from here: http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/1854- Second, open the flame picture in Paint.NET. Ctrl-A, Ctrl-C, Ctrl-Z. This will copy the flame to the clipboard and remove the selection. Third, run the Effects > Alpha Mask plugin. This should use the clipboard (checked) to isolate just the flame. Fourth, copy that and place it on the sword picture as you would any other cutout... on its own layer. Delete any flame that doesn't look good. Finally, send money to me via PayPal. Sarkut
Another way to eliminate the black background of the flames is using the Grim Color Reaper plugin effect with "What color?" set to Black. Grim Color Reaper This way doesn't thin out the flames as the Alpha Masking tends to. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You can send me payment in gold bullion by camel caravan.
