1Austin1
Sorry, I think this is in the right forum but I'm not positive. Anyway, I want somone to help me learn to make a cartoonish cow or something. There's no tutorials on it. Sarkut
For most questions, this is the right place to ask. If you get stuck while doing a tutorial, ask for help in that tutorial's thread. 1Austin1
Okay, thanks! So who here is good with cartoons? Edited April 5, 2010 by 1Austin1
pdnnoob
I'm terrible with cartoon art, but I do have some tips... 1. Use the line tool. It makes a clean, precise line...perfect for cartoons. 2. Use as many lines as necessary, but no more than that. To make it look like a comic strip sketchy style, be free with the lines, but don't use too many to draw one object. 3. Use layers for different parts of a drawing. Have one for the outlines of the cow, one for details on the giraffe, etc. You never know when it might come in handy 4. Name the layers you make That's all I can think of at the moment. Hope it helps! Possum Roadkill
This is not a PdN tutorial but you should be able to figure out how to draw a cartoonish cow here. http://www.dragoart.com/tuts/2188/1/1/how-to-draw-a-baby-cow.htm You can then read through some of the help sections as how to use the various tools to re-create the cow in PdN. I would start with the line tool and the various shape tools. Good luck ! Post your image in the Pictorium when you get it done. Uhhh, well to be honest I don't know how to change the thread title, I've only been here for a day. And I'm not exactly sure what you want me to change it to. But I'll go find out how to change the title.
pdnnoob
edit your starting post to change the title. change it to something related to your question (you were asking for suggestions on drawing cartoons?). Axle
cartoony thing are mostly from imagination, so get some pics of cows and try drawing them with very few lines (too look cartoony) then try making into different postions, Quote My Deviant Art | My Gallery
