brackfrack Posted February 15, 2010 Share Posted February 15, 2010 I'm not sure if another user has asked this already, but if they did, point me to the right link. Recently I purchased a new computer that runs Windows 7.(I used to have windows XP). When I first received the computer the computer(Thursday February 11), the first thing i did was Install Paint.net. It is now that I'm trying to install new effects and I get the following message when extracting the files the the "effects" folder: I'm not sure what I am supposed to do. C;\User\(name)\AppData\Local\Temp\CurtisBlack.Common.3.5.beta.1.zip: Cannot create CurtisBlack.Common.dll" And Below that it says "! Access is denied" Does that help? Sarkut Posted February 15, 2010 Share Posted February 15, 2010 Try downloading the zip to the Desktop, left-click to open (no WinRAR), then copy/paste the DLLs to the Effects folder. Vista and Win7 have a new security system and you don't have access to write to locations like C:\Program Files\* unless you "elevate" (or confirm or give permission, depending on context). This helps a LOT to make sure malicious programs can't go doing bad things (e.g. replacing system files) without your knowledge. Running everying as Administrator all the time got XP into a lot of trouble. The version of WinRAR you're using probably isn't written with this in mind; maybe you have an old version.
