LimeLight
I had an installation problem as well. Except mine included a fatal error, and a whipe of all of my Paint.NET files. Any help? Please.
LimeLight
This is what the problem seems to be. I'm not a techy guy though, so if someone who knows what that means could help me, it would be awesome. Rick Brewster
You only pasted the second half of the error log, which is completely useless ... it's just listing DLL's. LimeLight
You only pasted the second half of the error log, which is completely useless ... it's just listing DLL's. That's all it gave me. I don't know why it would only give me the second half, but I can try it again.
LimeLight
Nevermind. I needed to delete the old version entirely and then re-install the program with the framework. That fixed it. Thanks for the help though Rick.

castellum
Hi There, I posted this question some time ago. I'm glad that Lime's problem is solved. Mine is not. I havent been able to install the software until now. Can any body help?? My initial question!! Earlier this week I download 2.72 of Paint.net. I keep getting an error popup with the content below. Can You help me? System unauthorizedAccesExeption: Acces to the registrykey 'Hey_Local_Machine\software\paint.net'is denied. at Microsoft.win32.registrykey.win32error(int32 error code, string str) ..... ..... ..... Tressflin
Hm... So I'm not the only one. I got the exact same error message as castellum. I've installed, uninstalled, and re-installed the .NET framework with no success. And I don't really know my way around regedit, but the permissions seem to be set to everyone. I also noticed that after the error, PdN said there was a fatal error and includes (1603). Funny thing is, the app is practically installed. I tried opening PdN when the error message came up, and it actually opened! But when I clicked ok, the green install bar went backward (uninstalling it?), and I couldn't open it anymore. barkbark00
Do you guys have admin rights on these computers? Sounds like a rights issue... Quote  Take responsibility for your own intelligence. 😉 -Rick Brewster
Tressflin
Admin rights should be set to everyone, but even when I tried it on my mom's (owner's) account, it wouldn't work. Any other ideas?

Tressflin
Nope, WinXP (with SP and all that). So... Any ideas? I've been looking over some of the tutorials and plug-ins and I would love to play with them before fall break is over.
Tressflin
    And so that's what I get for being lazy. Barkbark00 confirmed that the problem was admin rights. I still don't understand why the issue came up, but it is now fixed. (I figured it out by installing it on the other computer and checking its settings.) For castellum, if he ever comes back: 1) Go Start -> Run -> regedit 2) Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE 3) Right-click and select permissions 4) Add your user (even if the permissions is set to "everyone") (this is where I went wrong) It should now install without error. Have fun with paint.NET!
