0rac1e
I don't know whether I am doing something silly, or if this is a bug, but, suddenly, when I try to save a cropped image as 'Save As', it is saved in a format that can only be accessed in Windows Paint. I am running version 3.36 with Windows XP. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance.

0rac1e
Sorry, I wasn't explicit enough. All saved images are in Windows Paint (which comes with Windows) format, not PNG or Jpeg as requested when I save. I have tried reinstalling Paint.net, without success. pyrochild
I think OP's problem is that MSPaint is the default handler for jpgs and pngs. Quote ambigram signature by Kemaru [i write plugins and stuff] If you like a post, upvote it!
0rac1e
There is no format shown when I look at Properties. It says 'Type of file...File' I have uploaded a screen grab of an image I have just attempted to save as Jpeg. I had no problems until yesterday, then it all went haywire. oma
did you type it St. with that period in there as part of the file name? that could be part of your problem the computor is programed to read anything after the period as the file name. just go to where you saved it and rename St Mary de Lode.jpg see how it opens then. ciao Quote My Deviant Art Gallery Oma's Paint.Net gallery
0rac1e
Spot on, Oma. It was the file name that caused the problem. Many thanks. By the way, are you by any chance German. Just asking, as Oma is German for Granny.
