Jef Patat
Hi all, for simple editing/drawing jobs I have always been able to come to a satisfactory result. Sometimes with help out of other topics or from one of the great tutorials. This time I get stuck however. For my wedding we have the print-office make the invitations, but they can only make the invitations and not the booklet. So I was thinking of copying the image for our booklet. After many hours of messing around I however never reach a satisfactory result. I have a digital version of the invitation but it is to small to be used on the booklet. I want the image to be nicely detailed in a square of approximately 14 by 14 cm. (the short edge of A5 format) Is there anybody who can help me out to rescale this image with a decent quality. It doesn't need to be an exact copy, but as close as possible. Thank you, Jef
david.atwell
This is impossible, requiring the computer to make up pixels that don't exist. You need to redesign it in a vector graphics editing program like Inkscape. Quote The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. A good wizard tricked it.River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.
Simon Brown
Couldn't this be done with a liquid rescale program mentioned on this forum a while ago?
Jef Patat
Hi and thanks for the responses. I know it is impossible to create pixels and detail that is not there. That is why I was redesigning the graph but it is not working out at all. In the meantime I gave up and deleted my shameful mess. I don't manage to draw something that is similar. I was hoping someone with bigger graphical talent could help me out with redrawing this. I know, I am asking to spend some of your time for my wedding  Jef Edit: in the meantime I tried the liquid rescale plugin of Gimp and this is the result. Interesting but not quite what I'm looking for.
david.atwell
Liquid rescale works best with photos. Quote The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... someone93
What's the font for the names?
Jef Patat
If anyone is willing to put effort in this i am very gratefull for that! I'm even willing to pay a small amount for it. The font for the names doesn't matter, that I can look around for and do myself. Also the two hearts do not need to be exactly the same, as long as there are hearts. The most important is the big 'Ja' with the circles. I don't succeed to decently enlarge this. thank you, Jef
someone93
I've made one, I hope it's what you're looking for. If you're planning to print it, I recommend downloading the vector-editor Inkscape (free). Then you can use the .svg file, that way you can resize it lossless to the size you want. Here's the .svg file: Wedding.zip Here's a preveiw of the image (click for full size):
Jef Patat
Oh men, just brilliant! I will try to combine the two of them to what I like. The design of someone93 the 'Ja' and the circles match perfectly but I like the hearts of welshblue better. When I get somewhere I will get back to you with the result, I'm feeling quite confident I will get a nice result now. Thanks a lot to both of you!
