I am having a serious print delay of up to 20 minutes since downloading the update.

Do you mean that when you select File | Print, it then can take up to 20 minutes before the Print Pictures dialog is displayed?

Or do you mean that when you click Print on the Print Pictures dialog, it can take up to 20 minutes before the printing starts?

Print the same file in Word and there's no problem.

How can you print the same file using Word?  Word handles .docx files. Paint.NET handles various image files.

In any case, the means by which Word and Paint.NET print is completely different.

Hi,

When I click print, it takes about 20 minutes to generate the preview. The green loading bar is continuously rolling along.

Then it takes another 20 to print.

There was no loading or printing issue before the update.

I bring the images into Word now, because it's quicker to print them there.

This could be your computer, or your printer device.

I had the preview within seconds and it printed within seconds too:

Hi,

I don't get a chance to change. Once I click Print, the generate preview starts immediately and I'm stuck waiting for it.

Can I install the previous version? This is seriously hampering my business.

I am running WIN 10. 22H2 19045.2846

Not possible unless you have the previous installer.

You should upgrade to 5.10 now anyway.

Then, as a work around, you could easily use Paint.NET in combination with IrfanView's comprehensive printing capabilities by following the approach here https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/123420-how-do-i-print-actual-size/?do=findComment&comment=613388

The code for printing hasn't changed, so this wouldn't achieve anything anyway.

Paint.NET outsources printing (and scanning) to a Windows component, "WIA" (Windows Image Acquisition), it doesn't actually handle printing itself.
