making black paint in a layer white

Recommended Posts

I am very new to Paint.Net and am trying to vary the ink colors in shirts that I'll be creating. The problem is that the dark ink of the design I've created refuses to be lightened to white or silver in color. I've searched topics but haven't found answers to this specific dilemma.

I'd like the black layer of ink in the image below to be white. How do I do this?

well all i know of is to use the paint bucket tool. (very hard) put the little thingy on the lines and click until you get it right. if theres a better way don't hesitate to forget everything i've just said.

Curves or Curves+

The end result looks really good! I played around with the curves feature, but instead of going white the paint looks transparent against the pink background. Could you do me a huuuge favor and give me a quick tutorial on how you got the white to look like that? I sure would appreciate it.
