Crashes when I click 'Utilities'

Recommended Posts

Okay so I am using Paint.NET version 3.5.5 right now because I ended up having to get an older version because it would crash whenever I opened it and when I uninstalled and tried to reinstall it would just act like it was installing then crash (I made a forums post about it here but never got any sufficient help).  It was working alright for a while although this version is lacking in many of the features I had grown to like (not replaceable by plugins) and thus I no longer use Paint.net very much. I have donated before although I somewhat regret that now.  Anyway, a few days ago it began crashing when I would click the Utilites button although oddly I could still continue to use it if I just minimized the crash alert. Help would be nice.  I'm at the point where I may as well just switch to gimp.  The crash log is attached (Way too long to post)

I've removed the extra posts.

There is no support for ancient versions of paint.net here. Especially something as old as 3.5.5. That dates back nearly eight years.

Your previous post regarded 4.0.19. Try installing the latest version (4.0.20), you can find Classic here: https://www.getpaint.net/download.html#download

It worked!  Were install issues on 4.0.19 a commonly reported issue or was this just a fluke?

Not really.

The Roadmap page lists nothing regarding install issues (see https://www.getpaint.net/roadmap.html), so I'm assuming it was something fluky

Anyway, glad we got you sorted!
