  1. oma just in the future if you wouldnt mind leaving the cheated background out , its fine for now, but i want to avoid causing a international discrepancy with the PDN community
  2. oma you cheater!! haha , god why do i take so much longer than everyone else...lol.
  3. iono how every one else feels about that Stephan, but i honestly think its fine as long as its your own work. But my only other thought is well maybe not everyone has a scanner. id love to here others input on that.
  4. nice jerk, cant beleive you beat mine out the door...lol. but mins 50 layers so far . cough *you stole my colors * cough
  5. sorry stephan im not familiar with that term. Please specify. Im working to hammer out my drawing cus i think it will give people kinda of a guide line for the rules.
  6. my avatar would be a good example of how i was thinking of this contest, its all hand drawn with the pencil tool, no effects at all, not every contrast of anything, the text is the only thing i didnt draw on it edit: oops the background isnt hand drawn
  7. modify the layers? wat do you mean by that? do you mean use more than one layer?
  8. im sorry im just getting back to you guys, i got off work at 3. First of all, any one can join this contest, theres no level of talent you must have, its really just for fun. I didn't see if you guys saw the edit i made to the rules maybe you could help me write this rule better, i want everyones work to look hand drawn but for instance programs i like glitter or the grid plugins i dont think should be prohibited, but plugins like guasian blur and basically all the blurs i do not think should be allowed to be used. I cant really find a way to word this i think i wrote any plug-in that doesnt over power the drawing. i dont no if that makes sense. It must be 100% PDN as much as i love MS paint it is not allowed i understand what you mean, but the way i look at it is drawing a line is no different with the lines tool then with the pencil, it just takes longer. Im not sure what you guys mean by enter? everyone who wants to be entered just post your image and your in. I would yes to all those, but no curves? please let me know if i didnt answer questions very well, im trying haha
  9. http://paintdotnet.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=22117 Entry thread ^^^, read for rules etc.^^^^
  10. So after some thought and some out loud discussion I thought maybe I'd attempt to try out this contest, please let me know what you think. The concept of the contest is to express art work through your own talent and only your own, I understand how much talent it takes to use some of these plug-ins and such, but I believe is a different sort of talent. There-fore the purpose of this contest is to free hand drawings on PDN then vote on whose you like the best. My definition of free handing is: you may only use the pencil tool, lines/curves. Then I'm going to allow the gradient tool because its a convince. Then of course the paint bucket etc.. Every week a topic will be decided by the community, this first one i will choice to show an example and to get things started. The PDN Free-Hand Drawing Contest Rules! If your entry breaks any of the rules it will be disqualified. ------------------------------------------------------------------ * Max Size: 1280 X 968 * No inappropriate language, picture, et cetera. * The image you make must only be made with the tools. * Image must follow the set theme. * Only one entry per person and no modifications to your image are allowed after submitting your entry. * No Models/Stocks are allowed. This is simply to be drawn using your imagination * You are allowed one post in this topic. The post must include your image. *No Plug-ins allowed! None what so ever. No exceptions. *Of course it must be 100% PDN. Many thanks to jerkfight and pyjo for helping to write these rules ^^!!! Voting Votes will be accepted in the form of PMs to me (k.digennaro) because of the amount of entries so far every one will get 2 votes, you must vote for your favorite two, and can not vote for your own. Votes must be in by the 29th of February, mid day ill get on and announce the winner. This weeks Topic Jurassic Age- Dinosaurs, etc., if youre not sure wats allowed to be drawn either google Jurassic age or just ask The Dead line will be the Saturday the 9th at 12am (Pyjo this is your topic so i really would love to have you in the contest, let me know when you coming back in town, maybe i can extend the deadline). *please let me know if i forgot anything (ill post my image to give a guideline, im almost done with it) Post Away! * Many thanks to sticking this topic Edit: As requested I have created a thread strickly toward the discusion and questions about this contest http://paintdotnet.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=22155&st=0&sk=t&sd=a. Thanks! ~Kevin~ Edit: Link fixed (sorry bout that) Contest Winners! Week 1 Automotives Pyjo Results To be honest people took this contest a lot further than i was thinking, this is a good thing . When i drew my picture i didnt draw a background or clean it up cus i didnt think any one else was going to, boy was i wrong. I was really impressed by some of the drawing talent PDN's community has. Our winner is PYJO
  11. honda i agree with you that its not the easiest thing to draw on PDN, but honestly its better than drawing on MS paint and im a MS paint junkie or used to be. Mabye ill give it a try, worst thing the happens is no one eneters
  12. wat do you think about that idea? would you guys do it? personally id love it haha but iono but every one else, im off for the night, but ill be on tomorrow, please let me know either way love to hear! Talk to you guys soon!
  13. an example this was done with pencil line/curves ^^^^ drawings like this ^^^^ not this
  14. im sorry probally used the wrong words ther, by hand drawing i mean like drawn with the pencil tool strickly or lines/curves, no shape 3D etc, i know these are really cools programs but id love to see some peoples real work (not thats not work but i think you know what i mean)
  15. wat about that blood drop tut as well, just change the colors im sure thatd look like a splatter.
  16. what do you guys think about a free hand drawing contest? i know how much i love to free hand, i did a quick scan and didnt see any contests already dedicated toward free handing only any opinions? good or bad idea?
  17. where is every buddy? ive been trying to put more posts up lately to get these forums going again seems like every one is on vacation or on an artistic block..
  18. me too bugster because of all of the other features and the convenience or everything, i just kinda like how i can mess around with my gradients on MS paint, hopefully it wont take long to learn how to do that on PDN im sure you can. i just have a lot of experience with MS pain and a lot of time invested on how different things work in MS paint, but now i use probally 99 percent PDN for everything
  19. i thought id do a little comparison on MS paint vs. PDN, making gradients, personally i like the convince of PDN's gradients but i still like making them in MS paint, at least the more advanced ones.(im awhere this same method can be done in PDN its just the traditional way to make a gradient on MS paint not killing your self with the pencil tool ) A few PDN Gradients (you all know what these look like, ill just do a couple examples) Now MS paint, now iono how familiar you guys are with this program, although these gradients take longer to make than PDN where talking PDN takes 5 seconds, these take 15 seconds. So what do you think? i personally go for PDN's now for convince, but sometimes in a background ill go into MS paint and make up a quick gradient thats more complex, love to here some input on this! Thanks Kevin
  20. hey oma, i was trying to think of how to enlarge it without messing it up to much, i just zoomed in until it fit the whole screen, then hit print screen and cut it out, hopefully you can see it now.
  21. thanks guys, im on my way out the door for work, chefs always have an early start...lol.. but ill be home in a few hours and ill give those a try, and yes i used solid colors. im really trying to allow my self to use all the tools PDN has to offer, i used MS paint for so long im used to the pencil tool and curves. for a while i was making my gradients in MS paint and pasting them over, i still do that on custom gradients cus i dont no how to do it in PDN.
  22. easier said than done after 8 years , for this drawing since i did it all on one layer, would it give the same effect if i selected each color with magic wand and feathered it out?
  23. heres the face blurred, but it was way to blurry so i sharpened it up a little, you think this looks any better?
