Well, if you don't mind, I'll gently encourage you throughout the year. Just let me know when I become a 'nag'.
Oh, I don't mind at all. You're never a nag

Now, I have to ask (again)....where is your gallery??? If you are doing all this sketching and then adding fine details with PDN, that would make a great gallery!!
Yeah, I know, I keep forgetting to start that gallery.... I'm so neglectful of late! But hopefully I won't be neglectful for the whole year Encouragement is always highly appreciated

I'm not familiar with the show either, but I like doing aliens in PdN as well (although mine tend to be ugly and menacing )

@Maximilian, hahaha, indeed! Love your new av. Reminds me of a crow right out of a Stephen King novel (The Stand)...great work!
Thank you for noticing the new guy (I love The Stand) It began as a pencil-on-paper sketch, and then I added feathers and other details in PdN. Here's the guy in full size if you want to pay a look at him (click on thumbnail):

In that case I'll have to let you know when I finish other corvidae I'm working on, @LionsDragon

And thank you for noticing the new guy The eagle that was my previous avvie is the first bird head I've sketched after many years without trying to sketch anything. These days I'm more into ravens and crows, and there's also a hummingbird and a cardinal that I haven't finished It began as a pencil-on-paper preliminary work, and then I went about adding feathers and other details in PdN. Here's the guy in full size if you want to pay a look (click on thumbnail):

Besides Advanced Greyscale, it's also possible to use TR's Color Reducer or Red ochre's Poster as alternative effects for dividing the picture into the different sections Other than that suggestion, I did another test on Katniss Everdeen:
And since I am a fan of Chicago P.D., here's one poster on the series:

A possible solution could be to increase the canvas size (CTRL + SHIFT + R) if you want to view the three images within the boundaries of your screen. In that way you can drag and reorder each copy in different layers until you get the desired layout, and without having to change image sizes.

Upscaling a small image will always degrade the quality. You need to always keep a copy of the original image in its original size. Downscaling and upscaling again will never give you satisfactory results.

I believe the topic is fine, though I haven't had the time to explore it. I think it would be nice to have an extension of the deadline

ReMake, thanks a lot for introducing us to this technique Here's my very first test:
And a second bigger test, so here's a thumbnail that links to the full-size image

Maybe this will help: The Wonderful World of Gradient Mapping!
I had almost forgotten about this tutorial (thanks for the reminder!). I have used it in the past and it's a great starting point, so I also recommend it.
