Mike Ryan
At this time Paint.NET v3.22 is most compatible with plugins, however once v3.30 comes out you should be quick to update as many of the incompatible plugins have a fix which havent been released yet. Hope that helps!

Mike Ryan
But v3.30b1 doesnt work with Splatter. In the end, it depends on what plugins you most need, and finding out if they work with the latest version.
david.atwell
It's really a moot point. As soon as 3.30 is released in final, you'll need to have that one. Quote The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.Amy: But how did it end up in there? The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.
Simon Brown
Alternativly you could do a duel install of the beta and the stable.
