question about arching text

Very sorry if this question has been asked before but, is there anyway way with the latest release(3.05) that you can arch text? If there is not is there any plans to include that tool in a future release?

There is not any special feature for this at the moment. Best advice is here, I guess.

I don't see your technique ! Bubble gives some kind of volume and doesn't make text on a curved line.

But you give me an idea...

First create a layer with a grid or a checker and use a horizontal gradient to fill the white square.

You should then have a guide line for next step... Dupplicate it for backup.

Use every distort effect you want. (I used the codelab Warp). You could now see clearly how the effect works.

Add a new layer and place it using the backup at the place the way you want to have it curved.

Ctlr + F : repeat the effect...

Instead waves, you could try with the cylinder effect (tube oblique)
