How to make effects on a tree and bushes?

I drew a tree and bushes and added color but I need to add effects to it so they look realistic not just like a simple drawing.

How do I do that?

Like some highlights and things to make it better.

hi, could you post an image of what youve drawn and something you have in mind to look like? Trees can be hard to draw realistically depending on the type, distance from view and light

one idea you could try is to get a photo of a similar tree and paste a section of its leaves onto your tree, and do some creative cloning (with the clone stamp) to mix those textures in with your tree textures, and add some of your tree texture onto the photo textures, so you end up with a mixture of the two, and then play around with hue-saturation and curves, to normalise the differences.

Just to add to Yellowman's comment and I think I said that in my tutorial, that the more areas you select and use the fractal, the better the result.
