Unhandled error when changing fonts

I recently installed a bunch of new fonts - when I try and load one in Paint.NET, I get an "Unhandled error", which outputs to a pdncrash file. Can someone help me? I really need to use new fonts, and would like to stick with paint.net, but I cannot figure this out.

Can you give us a link to the font you were trying to use?

You can usually figure out which font is not working because its "The quick brown fox" preview text won't show up in the font drop-down list.
