eternalwonderer
I have fonts that are properly installed on my computer but when I try to use them in Paint.net they don't show up. When I go to "Manage Fonts" in Paint.net it opens the font folder but when I click on the font I want it says it is already installed. Anyone know how I can get this font working in Paint.net? May thanks guys and gals! Happy Christmas!
Frontcannon
Can we see that font? There are some problems with pdn handling fonts of different types like semi-bold etc, they don't show up. eternalwonderer
The font is called CP Company. It comes in light, regular, bold and 'black' which is just a thicker version of bold. Neither of the 4 versions show up in Paint.net. A sample fo the font is here - http://www.fonts.com/findfonts/detail.htm?pid=433279 ^^^ It's the top 4 font's on that page. Son of Spam
I'm having the same problem. I just installed a font called "Aardvark Cafe" (available at many font download sites). But I can't see it whenever I load up PDN. I've since reinstalled the font several times (overwriting each time) from different sites, and I get the same result. And yes, I HAVE restarted PDN each time to allow the program to refresh itself. Funny thing, though... I used to use this font all the time with PDN, until I reformatted my computer a couple of months ago. Since I downloaded 3.5.6, I can't find it. Help! Quote Beware The Lollipop Of Mediocrity... Lance McKnight
It may be that you have installed a bad font. I believe Rick has said it may be fixed in an upcoming release. When that will be is entirely up to Rick. Be patient or try a font of similar style and see if that work. Son of Spam, IIRC, there is no v.3.5.6. We have currently v. 3.5.1. Son of Spam
Son of Spam, IIRC, there is no v.3.5.6. We have currently v. 3.5.1. LOL! You're absolutely right... I wanted to hit the "About" link in the Help Menu to find out which version I was using. Inadvertently, I clicked on Firefox's Help>About! Anyway, when I click on Font Manager, I can see the particular font I'm looking for in the Windows Fonts folder. But when I request it using PDN, it's not listed. What more do I need to do to access this font? Quote Beware The Lollipop Of Mediocrity... Lick It Once And You Suck Forever. Sarkut
eternalwonderer, Is the font not showing up here? http://www.LupiUpload.de/images/2009/12/26/e9dcbe8aad7e8941fd0f47cfd9b941d3d4649f6e.png Edited October 19, 2010 by Sarkut
eternalwonderer
Nope, it's not. Don't know what's going on here! Other fonts I installed show up, just not this one. They're all from the same place and all legitimate fonts that work in other programs, just that particular font won't show up in PDN. :? Sarkut
eternalwonderer, You haven't said what OS version you are using, if it's Win7, or Vista in some cases, this link may be relevant. Edited April 7, 2010 by Sarkut

Sarkut
Does using the "/disableDirectWrite" parameter make the font show up in the drop-down menu? Edited April 7, 2010 by Sarkut
eternalwonderer
Forgive me for not being technical but how to I launch the application with that parameter so I can check?
Sarkut
eternalwonderer, I've never had to use it myself. If you right-click on the Paint.NET desktop shortcut, then click on Properties, click again to put the mouse cursor at the end of the text in the address box labeled Target. Then hit the spacebar once and type in: /disableDirectWrite Then, Apply, OK. I think that is correct, but can't guarantee it.
