PancakePaint
This is the error I got when trying to install 3.5: System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException: Could not find a part of the path 'G:\Documents\Downloads\Staging'. at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath) at System.IO.Directory.InternalCreateDirectory(String fullPath, String path, DirectorySecurity dirSecurity) at System.IO.Directory.CreateDirectory(String path, DirectorySecurity directorySecurity) at PaintDotNet.Setup.InstallingPage.d__1f.MoveNext() in D:\src\pdn\paintdotnet\src\SetupFrontEnd\InstallingPage.cs:line 906 at PaintDotNet.Threading.IterativeTask.IterativeTaskAnon.d__0.MoveNext() in D:\src\pdn\paintdotnet\src\Core\Threading\IterativeTask.cs:line 36 at PaintDotNet.Threading.IterativeTask`1.<>c__DisplayClass1.b__0() in D:\src\pdn\paintdotnet\src\Core\Threading\IterativeTask`1.cs:line 77 Does anyone know how to fix it? Sarkut
Any progress with this? Have you had a try at installing the newer version 3.51?
PancakePaint
I tried updating to 3.51 and I got another error: System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException: Could not find a part of the path 'G:\Documents\Downloads\Staging'. at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath) at System.IO.Directory.InternalCreateDirectory(String fullPath, String path, DirectorySecurity dirSecurity) at System.IO.Directory.CreateDirectory(String path, DirectorySecurity directorySecurity) at PaintDotNet.Setup.InstallingPage.d__1f.MoveNext() in D:\src\pdn\paintdotnet\src\SetupFrontEnd\InstallingPage.cs:line 1060 at PaintDotNet.Threading.IterativeTask.IterativeTaskAnon.d__0.MoveNext() in D:\src\pdn\paintdotnet\src\Core\Threading\IterativeTask.cs:line 36 at PaintDotNet.Threading.IterativeTask`1.<>c__DisplayClass1.b__0() in D:\src\pdn\paintdotnet\src\Core\Threading\IterativeTask`1.cs:line 77 Here's some other info: I did not add PDN to the Start Menu/Programs List. PDN was installed into my USB, then later moved to this computer. EDIT: I installed PDN manually from GetPaint.net, and it worked. Thanks. Quote Using Paint.net for 5 months. Sarkut
So, if I understand correctly, you had v.3.36 on USB and copied the Paint.NET program folder to this system without going through an installation process on this system? The error message is wanting - G:\Documents\Downloads\Staging Do you still have that folder on the USB, and was it plugged in during the installation attempt? ========================================= Missed your previous edit, glad you got it working. Rick Brewster
v3.36 allowed you to install to a removable drive, e.g. USB stick. This actually ends up being a very bad thing, so it is no longer allowed. The upgrade path for v3.36 -> v3.5* on removable media probably won't work, as you've seen.
