Error when installing 3.5

This is the error I got when trying to install 3.5:

I tried updating to 3.51 and I got another error:

Here's some other info:

I did not add PDN to the Start Menu/Programs List.

PDN was installed into my USB, then later moved to this computer.

EDIT: I installed PDN manually from GetPaint.net, and it worked. Thanks.

So, if I understand correctly, you had v.3.36 on USB and

copied the Paint.NET program folder to this system without

going through an installation process on this system?

The error message is wanting - G:\Documents\Downloads\Staging

Do you still have that folder on the USB, and was it plugged in

during the installation attempt?

v3.36 allowed you to install to a removable drive, e.g. USB stick. This actually ends up being a very bad thing, so it is no longer allowed. The upgrade path for v3.36 -> v3.5* on removable media probably won't work, as you've seen.
