One of my mini tuts on the Fan forum, it should get you started, try to find it.

Replace the blue gradient with white.

Don't make lazy Ash find it for you. :?

looks like smoke, but not qite it. it still dosen't have that 3D look to it. any idea on how i could fold or spirsal it, or something?

Don't just follow my tut, that's just to give you an idea and starting point.

like my signature smoke, i can tell you how I did that

I used Render-> spirograph(black and white colors)

Then I smudged it back and forth a ton

@Benji2: actually, more like your avatar, only more blurry, but the smudge sounds good. i'll see what o can get with it.
