lmiol
In the app, all layers have the same dimensions. So, if I want to place a large image into a smaller one, I always have to resize it manually. But what if all the images I put in have the same positions like a pattern? For example, these previews have the same texture proportions, but all the textures inside are larger than the background. I want to find out – is it possible to create layers with specific dimensions? I mean, if I want to replace an image by importing it, will it be filled in without manual resizing? It is possible by plugins or any other options? Edited July 15 by lmiol
Tactilis
1 hour ago, lmiol said: is it possible to create layers with specific dimensions? No. Because, as you correctly said: 1 hour ago, lmiol said: In the app, all layers have the same dimensions. You could use Fill > From Clipboard or Fill > From File from Boltbait's Plugin Pack: https://forums.getpaint.net/BoltBaitPluginPack 1. On a new layer, create a rectangular selection of your desired size. 2. Effects > Fill > From Clipboard/File to place your larger image in the correct place. 3. Adjust the Zoom setting to scale the larger image so it just fits the selection. Next time you run the Fill effect (in the same paint.net session) the Zoom setting will be remembered and the correct scaling will be applied to your next imported image. Ego Eram Reputo
Resize the insert images to their correct dimensions, then place them on their own (otherwise blank) layer above the layer with the background image. Align the insert image with this plugin: Quote ebook: Mastering Paint.NET | resources: Plugin Index | Stereogram Tut | proud supporter of Codelab plugins: EER's Plugin Pack | Planetoid | StickMan | WhichSymbol+ | Dr Scott's Markup Renderer | CSV Filetype | dwarf horde plugins: Plugin Browser | ShapeMaker
