How can I create a vertical text at a vertcal line on a drawing?

Hi @hanspeter you could try this plugin, Rotate Text found in this Plugin pack:

 

1. Have your map on one layer.

2.  Make a new layer and make your text.  You can get it to be vertical by playing with the settings.

@hanspeter It's best you do the text on its own layer so that you can manipulate it to fit over your image.

I assume you went to settings and clicked the correct boxes?

Please check your Spam folder for notifications, as I know sometimes they go into that folder.

I apparently expressed myself vaguely. My attempt on the background layer I made before you taught me. After that, it worked great.
