Need help editing a photo

I am a furniture builder and most times when I take a pic of one of my pieces, I have unwanted items, clutter in the background. Is there any way I can delete the background clutter and still have the piece of furniture intact, or is there some way to make the background say white or some other color and leave the piece of furniture as is? Am I asking too much from this program? Any help would be appreciated.

Try clone stamp for removal of small objects,

Search for cutting out images tut for removal of the whole background.

Like I said, use cutting out images tut, then use clone stamp to remove some of the grass near the legs.

Also, buy a mono color (Green or blue...) cloth and make it L shape (green screen) and put your object on it to take photo, save you lots of time editing.
