Cre_mie
I reset my computer last night to clear out everything so I could have more room in my computer. Of course, that means PDN was deleted too. I redownloaded PDN, but after extracting everything, when I tried opening the application, it just closed out. It didn't say anything went wrong, and PDN had not installed. It did not give me any options of what language I wanted to use. After extracting everything, I tried opening everything, but there was no application that allowed me to open PDN. Please help me! Thank you!!
toe_head2001
Hello, can you please try installing the .NET Framework beforehand, and see if that makes a difference? Sometimes the bundled installer fails. You can download it here: https://www.microsoft.com/net/download/thank-you/net472 Then try to install paint.net afterwards. Rick Brewster
You probably also reset all of your Windows Updates. Open up Windows Update and installing everything. Reboot, then check for updates again ... repeat until nothing's left. Rick Brewster
Also, you neglected to mention which version of Windows you're using ... 8? 8.1? 10? Cre_mie
Sorry!! I'm using Windows 10 @Rick Brewster @toe_head2001 it says that 1. Setup cannot continue because a previous installation requires your computer to be restarted. Please restart your computer and rerun Setup. 2. The .NET Framework 4.7.2 is not supported on this operating system.
Rick Brewster
For #1, ... you would just need to restart. For #2, easy. You just need to install the latest Windows Updates. Paint.NET now requires .NET 4.7, which in turn requires Windows 10 v1607 ("Anniversary Update") or newer. More info at: https://blog.getpaint.net/2017/10/23/paint-net-4-0-20-and-net-4-7/ Running into #2 after a fresh install or system reset is pretty common.
