italyMB Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 Hello everyone I am experiencing this problem in the latest update: when I select an area in a 12mp image and I move it the scrolling appears laggy, as if the computer couldn't handle the pixel density. Seems strange on a i7. Allready tried running in other Windows compability modes. Anybody had the same issue? Thank you for your help! MB Quote
toe_head2001 Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 If I remember correctly, the canvas is rendered by the GPU. Can you post your specs, as found in the paint.net Settings window? Settings -> Diagnostics -> Copy to clipboard Quote My Gallery | My Plugin Pack Layman's Guide to CodeLab
Rick Brewster Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 Depends a lot on which i7 you're talking about ... not all i7's are made alike Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html
NecroVoid Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 yes i have this problem too. cant drag anything anywhere without it lagging and seems like nobody ever has an answer Quote
Rick Brewster Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Without knowing your system specs, especially the exact CPU type, it's hard to give any sort of help or advice. Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html

Rick Brewster Posted September 22, 2017 Posted September 22, 2017 Okay thanks. This might be related (no fix though yet): https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/111747-paintnet-slows-down-quickly-and-eventually-freezes/ I have a task filed to investigate performance on systems with dual core CPUs. Something may have regressed here. (paint.net's performance is mostly affected by clock speed and core count ... i3 vs i5 vs i7 is mostly about cache size on the laptop/mobile side of things) Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html
