  1. Hey Eli, That's actually a pretty good result, it just needs to have some kind of code which enforces each 'pixel' MUST be a single colour and that perhaps the 'gap' grid line over the pixels is a tiny bit larger (perhaps 2 pixels) Did you just make that?
  2. Hi is there a plugin which will do this specific pixelization effect? Note the spacing in the pixels which has been achieved - pixelising in itself I imagine is probably easy but that whole 'snap to grid' conformity is good plus the pixels have a small 1 pixel spacing between them. Thoughts? Thanks.
  3. I know how you feel about usability. I used paint shop pro 5 for over a decade, I came over to using this but I still use PSP5 for stuff. I still miss CTRL-DEL to actually delete the file I'm looking at (with confirmation) - I asked here but got shot down. Considering Rick appears to be a very graphics heavy person with his knowledge, it's a miracle this is as easy to use as it is.
  4. Hello, Straight forward question. When I type up my block of text to drop in to something, I'd love a hotkey or button which I can press to just cycle through next font, next font, next font, next font, and so on. I can manually click up the top but it's multiple clicks to cycle through the font I am using. I would imagine this is possible and maybe I just don't know how to do it, does anyone know? Thank you all.
  5. That's what I was doing but they had a tilted head which I needed to work with Tilted like / \ kinda thing, I needed the centre of the face to be at least perfectly vertical, until I knew I could solve my problem.
  6. Hah there you go - that's very cool. I feel like the rotation options for the selection tool, should be available off the primary tool, rather than having to switch tool but I don't need this too often and so it's totally servicable. Thanks
  7. I just used this for only 5 minutes for the first time in a couple of months and already wished this feature existed in only that time, hint hint ♥
  8. Hello. I'm trying to do one of those things with someones face, where you mirror one half on to the other half. Her face is very slightly tilted to the side and I'd like to select a square of her face but then rotate it. (I realise I can just rotate the image but this seems kind of awkward) This picture will help explain what I mean. http://i.imgur.com/who7G7W.jpg Am I just not thinking clearly here and there's totally a solution?
  9. I have an image which has been vectorised but it got a little wonky. Is there a way to smooth out out? It has a kink in it, that it's supposed to, near the bottom but otherwise I'd prefer if it came out more uniform? What's the best solution for this? http://i.imgur.com/gT5GoTQ.png
  10. Is there a way to apply a picture to a FLAT 3D surface (yes I know how dumb that sounds) I don't want it to wrap around a box but I just want to make it look like it's on an angle. Example I make a great mock up of a newspaper and then I want to make it look like it's laying completely flat. (Perspective view) Here's an example, a rug. https://livethefancylife.files.wordpress.com/2012/04/blue-rug.jpg"a 2D version" Now imagine rotating it, not circular but in 3D space. http://i5.walmartimages.com/dfw/dce07b8c-287a/k2-_757c8466-ff59-46bb-a9d8-e06f537f9226.v1.jpg
  11. I'm an extensive keyboard user and although I've maxed out around 20 layers before, 9 times out of ten I'm using less than 5 layers. Fast tapping a key would be easier (in my opinion) - plus we've got a hotkey for changing images, by that logic "wouldn't it just be better just clicking the thumbnail up the top?" - different people, different workflow. (I use CTRL Tab endlessly)
  12. I checked some documentation / googled, pretty sure this hotkey doesn't exist? Be nice to just hit CTRL (something?) and have it cycle them.
  13. Small clock "last saved X minutes ago" Pretty straightforward. Thanks
  14. Hello all, I wanted to thank you for responding and aplogise for not getting back to you. I'm slowly learning more and more how to do stuff with the tool. I am still using other tools to assist me, Vector Magic, InkScape and even Gimp. I am almost comfortable enough to do everything I want now in Paint.NET and loading Paint Shop Pro 5 (yes, seriously...) less and less. (I'm very fluent with PSP5 for basic stuff) I think the erode tool is still superior in PSP5 - but as for most things with Paint.NET there's probably a better way but I don't know how. That being said, here's what I managed to whip up with the 3 tools I listed, I'm pretty happy with the result, so thank you all so much in the community here. https://www.dropbox.com/s/i8qz39hr954wg5x/Max01.png?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/umwq6rsixwzfsza/Hum01.png?dl=0 I admit MOST of the work for these are done out of Paint.NET but it's the final clean up, the resizing, the initial outlining of the image before vectorizing and what have you which it's great at, the 'every day work' with the images. ♥ Thanks all / Rick! EDIT: I know I'm still running virtually 2 colour only, rather than the multi-layer look in the original link (of Bill Murray) but baby steps, getting there.
  15. Thank you very much for this, it's really appreciated. If I could (please♥) ask for one feature in the future, it's to be able to zoom right in, yet pan slightly off the canvas. Here's a dummy shot of what I'd think it would look like.
  16. I've been doing very very very simple graphics editing in stuff like MS Paint and Paint Shop Pro 5 for over 15 years and somehow the whole layers thing finally clicked with Paint.NET. I finally understand how they work and what they are for. I had no idea previously. Very very handy stuff, I love them. I will say I've finally found a use for 16GB of ram in the past 2 months fiddling though, wow you can chew up some ram on bigger images. Although Paint.NET's stability, is very surprisingly good, considering the size of some of the images I'm working with.
  17. Hey thanks, appreciate it - interesting plugin!
  18. The example pics are dead, does anyone have any shots of what this actually does?
  19. I know this is an old thread but I thought I might chime in here as a newbie, since everyone else is helping me so much. Like the guy above says, the source image isn't too messy. I've found you can use vectormagic.com to convert your images to vectors or in the least clean them up to put them into paint.net. It strips a lot of the rubbish out of pics.
