  1. i have an idea 'bout what u mean, but i'm not really sure this woult work: duplicate the layer with the picture, invert the intensity on one layer and change the layer blending mode on the top one. lighten or darken should doo the trick. ...i think
  2. nope, no gradient, as far as i know. and i didn't have drop shadows at the time, that's done with glow. plus i didn't say they were succesfull atempts. i just like the end result better
  3. i see some relly good stuff here. some a litle disturbing, but still. all i've got is a couple of atempts to make some anime renders look more 3d off topic: how do i make them into thumbnails? pm me the answer so as not to bother the thread
  4. i think u could do both the bottle and label with shape 3D, a selection rectangle and a bit of layer flip/rotate or whatever it's called. i'll post back in a bit with an example edit: bottle: for the bottle, u make a selection smaller than the canvas on a new layer, use a vertical :LinearGradient: gradient on it, deselect, aply a shape 3D cilinder to it, select an area aprox 1/4 of the cilinder's hight, starting from the midle, aply a bulge (in the distort menu) set at -200 with the vertical position set as high as possible to it, select what's left from the distorted area to the top and resize it to fit, then select the section with the bulge and top, aply another bulge to it (same setings), go to distort\bulge again, keep the coordinates but change the amount so that the top of the botle looks cilindrical, select the hole bottle and change the width (if needed) and that should be about it. for the lable, make a new layer, design your lable in an area betwen the neck and bottom of the bottle (width is irrelevant), and when you're done with the design, aply shape 3D to it, still cilindrical, and modify the radius to adjust the width so it fits the bottle. if u want a transparent bottle, i suggest asking someone else
  5. 1) upload picture to an image hosting site (like photobucket or imageshack) 2) copy the direct link to the image 3) in the "edit signature" (or something) section paste the link betwen and save :!: make sure u don't have any spaces in there
  6. @ steathed: looks more like plate than foil, but if u say otherwise, i won't argue with u. i've done this last night, and i think this is the place for it:
  7. if you're refering to that diagonal beam in the background, that's done with the gradient tool set on ,on a new layer, behind the 2 text layers. sory i didn't mention anything about it, but i just didn't think it was that important. didn't mean to confuse you. PS: make sure to write your text in a new layer, otherwise whatever is behind it wil be masked.
  8. stupid question, but what's WOII stile like? anyway, why don't u just take the hawk and redo the rest?
  9. nice ones. i really lyke that black and white one, it seems to fit that pattern the best. that third one stands out too, the transition is softer than on the rest (imo that's a good thing).
  10. make a new layer on top of your background and paste whatever u haveto paste there. when done, flatten.
  11. something like this? just double the layer with the text, add a zoom blur (maximum) (and maby a glow effect) to the bottom layer of text and youre done. :!: when adding the blur, make sure it starts from the midle of the text. i also added a bevel selection effect to the top text, but that's optional. hope it helps.
  12. this thread is really out of my league, still... the wolf itself isn't mine. i just tweaked it and added a bg and fogg
  13. ok... i had no idea u could do that. thx a lot
  14. wow, some really good walls here. don't think i can compete with u guis, but here goes nothing: http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z114/mosleonte/blueghosts.jpg ...tho i might have embarresed miself with an anime wall...
  15. i have that already. it would have been perfect if it had a transition efect to it. right now it's rough. i guess what i'm looking for is a crossbreed between that and the fade edge plugin
  16. @ oma: i'll haveto look into that gradient blurr thing. as for the fade edge efect, i already have it, but i'm looking for somethig a litle more flexible...
  17. use the lasoo selector with 300 or 400 % magnification to select and remove the background, then return to 100% magnification amd, if needed, use the feather pluggin to smooth out the edge. at least that's how i do it. and the term you're looking for is indeed "cutout", but you'll also find it called a "render", if that helps in any way.
  18. i know about the feather pluggin, but i'm looking for something different. i mean, i can't just feather away half of an image, or a hole through it. maby i said it wrong... what i'm looking for is more in the lines of transparency control, rather than feathering. and dafont was a lot of help, thx
  19. sory if i've posted in the wrong place (i'm new on this forum and this place seems the moast likely for this) well you guis remember that "fade edges" efect(can't remember if it was a plugin or built-in). well i'd like it if i was able to fade the edge of a selected area(ex a circle or the edge of a .png) and, if possible, for more adaptability, maby the option to fade individual sides (left/right/up/down/combinations). i've frequently found myself in need of such an effect, but have yet to find it. off topic, i'm curious where i could find some fonts and how to install them. sory for the trouble and thanks for your time.
