1. Just out of interest i was wondering what the best file type is to save high quality images as. If you could answer the questions mentioned below or lead me to a website that sums it all up i would greatly appreciate this. 1) What is the difference between .jpg, .bmp, .tif, .png, .gif, .hdp, .pdn ? (all at highest quality possible in PDN) 2) Which one can be edited numerous times without loss of image clarity, quality and file size? 3) Positives and negative of any of the file types mentioned above. Could you please clear this up for me as i have heard many +ve an -ve arguments on all of them and i would like to know your opinion on all of them, which ones you most commonly use and what you use them for. If you have any more questions you would like to ask just reply to the post as well. Geoff
2. I too have been trying out the plug-in and have found no related issues with your file type problem. I also noticed that in your save as menu you have available "optimized .png", ".jpg 2000", ".psd" and ".pcx". As these file types do not come standard with Paint.NET, one of these will be interfering with the AVIImport plug-in. Just as a test remove all of the "additional" file types except one(1) from the File Typse folder to find out which one is doing the interfering, do this for all of them (4), and let me know how you go. Geoff
3. Is there any particular reason that causes PDN to crash after a save has occurred, whereas if a save hasn't occurred PDN will quite happily undo the performed flatten action? Geoff
4. Thanks for your quick replies, and yes i agree with you that PDN should just create a warning message telling you that your out of memory instead of just crashing without giving you the option to do something about the issue. Geoff
5. I can understand running out of memory. My problem is why does this only occur after i have saved it as another file type as mentioned in the first post. Geoff
6. Here it is as requested. Geoff
7. I have been experiencing a problem that occurs when i undo a flatten through a few versions of PDN so i thought it was about time to bring it up. I first started noticing this problem in PDN 3.10, 3.20 and now 3.22b.This problem only ever occurs whenever i have a large canvas with a number of active layers. The problem starts once i have flattened all layers of the .pdn file, save it (as a .jpg/.png), and then undo the flatten to continue on editing the .pdn file. During processing the undo flatten PDN will instantly crash and place a log on my desktop (i will post it if you want it). However if i do the same thing without saving it as another file type, PDN will not crash whilst undoing the flatten. If anyone else is experiencing or has experienced this problem please feel free to reply to this post. Geoff
8. Great plug-in sabrown100, it will become very useful, although not the most obvious picture editing plug-in many people will greatly appreciate the work you have done here. By the way is there any chance that the plug-in will be able to support more file types other than .avi files, such as .mpg and .wmv? However you have made a great start. Geoff
9. Thanks for letting us in on this plug-in Tanel. You have made a significant advancement from what we have been doing before. Just out of interest what more are you thinking (hoping) of adding to the plug-in in the future. Personally i would recommend incorporating the "Feather" plug-in"feather" plug-in from BoltBait or the "Anti-alias" plug-in from jsonchiu in future editions. Geoff
10. Thanks everyone for your replies. If you have any more opinions on the matter please feel free to reply to this thread. This may not be a major addition to PdN however I'm sure once people get into PdN they will realise the power of it and want to change the default canvas size. Geoff
11. When you open it i presume it opens in the default view (Windows Picture and Fax Viewer) which automatically has a background of white. This could be your problem, to see if the image does have any transparent areas view that image in a slide show and the white should now be black. If this isn't the case please reply back, however this is similar to another plugin request - Chroma Key plugin request (Automatic removal of colour). Please have a read of this and tell me if this is similar to what you are after, and if it is express your opinion as a reply on that link so we can get something done abut it. Geoff
12. You may also wish to have a look at this request as it deals with a similar topic Chroma Key plugin request (Automatic removal of colour) Geoff
13. This is very close David, however once PdN has opened it creates an error message stating "This image type is not recognised, and cannot be opened". Have you actually done this an know it works or is this still in the trialling process? Geoff
14. Thanks for your reply harold however i would prefer a way which does not involve registry changes unless it has been tested and i feel confident with it. Geoff
15. Thank you very much for your reply David to the topic. David, however true that may be, this means every time i open up a .tiff it loads PdN. All i want is when you open up a .tiff in Windows Picture and fax Viewer (default program) and click on "Close this program and open this image for editing" (second icon from right on bottom) it will load in PdN not regular paint. This occurs for every other file type the PdN is associated with as the default imaged editor. Unfortunately this has not yet been implemented yet like it is an option the other main file types. Geoff
16. In a future version of Paint is it possible to include during the installation process an option to make the default image editor of .tiff file types as it does this for similar types like .jpg If you have any comments or questions on the matter please feel free to reply. This would be greatly appreciated. Geoff
17. Another request that i would greatly appreciate if is implemented into a future release of PDN is being able to scroll through effects, when a large number of effects are installed. This would mean being able to use the scroll wheel on the mouse instead of have to click the arrows at the top and the bottom. Any thoughts and opinions on this topic would be greatly appreciated. Geoff
18. This plug-in would become very handy indeed. An example of its use is taking picture with a solid colour background and then being able to change to background of the picture without changing the foreground. If anyone is willing to give the plug-in a try i would be willing to test it and experiment with it. Geoff
19. Does anyone else agree that there should be an option to be able to change the default canvas size at start-up. If you agree with me feel free to reply to this post and voice your opinion to make it happen. Any thoughts on this will be greatly appreciated. Geoff
20. Just placing my request for a full screen option to be trialled and possibly implemented in to a future version of Paint. Preferably this feature would be like the full screen option in Microsoft Office Word, this would help people who prefer to make the most of their screen size. If you have any thoughts or comments on the matter please reply to this thread. Geoff
21. Thank you very much for providing this external link to Orb Generator This successfully worked Geoff
22. Download Broken! 1/08/2007 (D/M/Y)
23. Sorry to spoil it however i have already seen this tut and this it what made me ask on how to do it better i.e. to make it look like the link i posted above
24. Hi i was wondering if it is possible to recreate the Windows Vista Aurora background using PDN? To see what the Aurora looks like please follow this link http://www.haaland.no/documents/files/P ... Aurora.jpg If you know how or have an idea please reply Geoff
25. When using high resolution, the explosion doesn't look as good as it does on a resolution such as 800x600
