I'll admit it's more than one step, but you can get the same effect without too much effort in PdN. Provided this is to your liking.

Oh but it is, you just don't know how to use it.
Using that tutorial I made the following.
I can go into more depth if necessary, but it shouldn't be too hard to figure out.

This adjustment appears in the Adjustments menu. Amazing!
Adjustments > Gradient Mapping
Looking in the Effects menu will get you nowhere fast.

Ok, I was able to keep the snow when I added just images 8) :
But when I tried to add text or borders, (no new layers), the snow stopped
? 
How'd I screw up :? , anyone???
Did you try and add the border after you had already done the animation?

Those were the Shape3D settings I used. The angle is, of course, totally up to you.
Or did you mean what settings I used to get the stone texture?

so heres my idea for my stair case. i kinda got the idea from the harry potter movie lol. leme know what you think. not perfect...im having a tough time with shape 3D...haha. and the texture doesnt look to much like stone.

Hmm, I'm liking where this is going. The angle of the stairs seems to be going good for you. But if you don't like the texture, maybe either of these are a little better?

Getting back on point. Here's my newest Terragen creation. (Which is number... two, for those of you counting
) TG is really fun to play with! Did a few touchups in PdN.
(Is Terragen picture that was color corrected in Paint.NET allowed to be posted in the Pictorium? I don't want to take the focus away from PdN...)

It looks pretty cool, though the delay could've been stepped up a bit. It seems to slow to me.
Also the transition is a little harsh, but an animated .gif isn't something to be picky about.
Nice idea.
(And last I checked, Photoshop is more like $600+ now)

Hmm, you're right. I tried putting a slight curve on it, but I had trouble getting it without it looking horribly wrong.
If you look at where the handle meets the head there's a minor curve on it. 
Thanks for your comment on my spoon! I'm determined to figure out how Ash managed to make that 3D Homer. It seems like it's on the tip of my tongue (or the tip of mouse... or something), but it just keeps slipping away. :wink:

Ok, so after seeing all this cool Terragen stuff (and learning how to use it) I tried my hand at 3D landscaping. Terragen is like... awesome!
This is my first crack at it. I did some darkening and such in PdN to make it more ... you know, good. -

TS9 in the back looks pretty cool. Yay for stitch. The orbs don't really look like anything in my opinion.

I looked at that spoon I made earlier, now it's just bothering me. So I remade it. I think it has more 'spoony' depth now. I also couldn't decide on wood color. So this picture transitions between the two, help me decide. :wink:

Select that. Set the tolerance to about 20-30 I'd say. Then hold shift and click anywhere there is white.

@ Rostigalen That's pretty neat. The texture kind of reminds me of a hacky sack.

@ MegaNight - yup looks good. Though personally, I think a dark gray backround looks even better than black.
@ verndewd - That. Is. Cool. It's all glass and threaded through itself and trippy and [enthusiastic adjective] and stuff! I think the reddish-brown one is my favorite. (Oh, andthe big blue one has some jagged edges here and there that throw the flow off.)

Haha, that's pretty sweet, Ash. Just a little smoother transition from armor to skin and I think you'll have another winner.
an old friend of mine asked for a keyboard. As more inspiration and skill comes to me I'll probably spend a day or two making a super detailed version eventually.

Someone was joking around and asked if I had a spare creditcard. So I decided to make one...
There are some anti-aliasing and other general 'quality' issues due to messing up on a few things and fixing them in totally the wrong way.
Consider this a draft, I guess.
