* Changed: Old effect plugin DLL's that have since been integrated into Paint.NET (Glow, Portrait, etc.) are now blocked from loading.
Why?
-
Try it with Shape3D. Create a block, angke it the right way, create a new layer, re-angle, relocate on "top" of the first one. Then repeat.

From GD & Q Topic: Soft edge brushCheck out the Pppular Feature Requests thread. This falls under Custom Brushes, which Rick is looking to include with the 4.x update...
Technically speaking, this feature is already there, he's not asking for the brush itself, but for an opacity slider. So that cancels that rule since there's no such request.

Shape3D is definatly the way to go, since it does its own shadows. For a more plastic look, try putting a White-transparent gradient over the cover, makes it more glossy

@ The newest submission in the official submission thread: Do not just color/recolor. That requires no skill whatsoever.
Previews of mine, previously only seen 0n the chat:
The top, with basic buttons and a color theme chooser.
Tabs.

You might wanna try one of those Windows emulators... Mac sucks for most compatibility anyways...
-
Well... Skinning gets used... very broadly. Creating new things (mostly interfaces, or things that belong to them) is also a part, but as you saw in MSC #5 most people "skinned" Windows. ( I didn't... )

Omg, you're a cheating noob! Just kidding... I voted verndewd.
-
Methinks the Forum and dA...Also, Myrrdin waned to explain his secret vote...

Technically, the selection isn't a separate picture in which everything is rendered, but just what would happen if you'd render the effect over the whole picture (layer), and then cut out the piece that is selected. (This can be avoided by placing elements on different layers.)
Example:
As you see, on the left, there is black blur too, although the black wasn't selected. In the current infrastructure, it doesn't work at all to seclude an area in your plugin. I hope this answered your question.

Holy Cow...
What did you chop up with that axe? A cow?
Methinks a baby Really great job verndewd!

@Stephan, Nice job on the box construction. Although, the lighting is a little unrealistic in that the assumed light sources for the shadows and the surface gradients seem to contradict each other...
Gradients are actually the colors of the box.
@ Olav: Flowers made in PDN?
-
It's a box. On a table.
-
I voted... Who else did?
-
Maybe the official release on the 25th...
-
The secret to happiness = PDN 3.20
Wrong. Its PDN 4.0.

Posted at last... Wanted to post it earlier, but indeed, the forum acted up, rendering me impotent to post it...

Bit robbed of time, so submitting it on the last chance I have. Everything is made in PDN, icons, toolbars...Same goes for background.
Login:
Main
2 Windows (2*2)=4 points (Plus 2 if the Login window counts...)
7 Icons = 7 points
Costum Wallpaper = 2 points
Taskbar = 2 points
Getting me 15 points plus vote-points.
Also, as an extra, http://stephanheijl.deviantart.com/art/ ... n-67545290 bootscreen (animated) And: http://www.filefactory.com/file/a2560b/ the Startup Sound.

Stephan, with points, you ehm... win.
Edit: Oh I get it! Then you're thinking 'What is voting for??'... If you take a closer look you'll see that each vote you get is worth 1 point. At the end, whoever has the most points is the new super-ultra-champion.
Yes, but say everyone got about the same votes, and one would win by an edge because he has more icons then the one with the most votes... Would that be fair?
-
For sequences of filters (effects, as we call them), you can use Scriptlab, but there are no macros for saving and cropping and such...
-
Just a question before i go all wild with icons... What do we get for the points?
-
Thank god... I only just finished the browser... ;P
-
I second that, also, why are submissions until now so low res? I mean, who has 800x600 anyway?
It doesnt say anything about only PDN...
Also i just used 800 by 600 becau its default on pdn...
And fits on most computer screens...
It does limit all things... Number of windows, icons, size of wallpaper, seriously, take a larger resolution like 1024x768, or maybe even widescreen 1280x800...
