Thank you @Gooney for such a neat tutorial, especially as diamonds are my first gem of choice .
I was a tad confused at step 6 & 7 as you refer to 'first layer' twice ...... but I worked it out in the end.
Also, would be great to add the link to the cell texture Plugin as well.
Many thanks again and herewith my attempt.

I may be doing it wrong, but when this ever happens to me I go to - Image - Crop to Selection - and then the canvas adjusts.

I think we should try to do one thing at a time. This post I'll help with the star again. The Sarkut's Gold I don't think would be for you as it involves downloading an xml map and is really complicated. I'm sure we can come up with something simpler - later.
For the star. When you upload the star into your PDN work it will already have a box around it.
1. Hold shift down on computer and pull on one corner nub - it will then decrease the size.
2. To move the star - hover the cursor over the box till you see a big "X" then drag into place.
-
OK - let's work on the star for now.
1. Save the star somewhere on your computer.
2. Open your PDN with your book cover and jewel that you are working on.
3. Go to - Layers - Import from File - and navigate to where the star is .... (where you saved it on your computer) click on it and it will be uploaded into the box, & then click Open. It will then be put
into a new layer above your work.
4. Resize the star to fit where you want it over your book.
Good luck.

Play with the Tolerance in the top tool bar. Increase or decrease it as needed.
-
Renee - I hope you get the font sorted out.
Meanwhile here is the star you were wanting. Hover your cursor under the Attached Thumbnails, when you see a hand - Right click it and Save Image As. I'd choose .png. Then when your work is open in PDN you upload it to a new layer and resize as necessary.
Hover your cursor under this line . You can't see it as the star is white (but it'ss on a transparent background)

Wow! Look at that ..... @Midora and I posted at exactly the same time! I think that's called being Ninjad .
Renne .......... why don't you just upload your image straight into PDN. Go to Layers - Import from File and navigate to where it is on your computer.
-
Renee ........ If you are requesting help on something it would now be better to start a new thread, with the subject of what you are trying to do.
If you don't have the urls of an image - do this:
1. Have your image saved on your computer.
2. Click on the 'More Reply Options' (which is next to POST bottom right of this post)
3. Once you do the above you will see the 'Attach Files' at the bottom.
4. Browse to the file on your computer to the image you want to attach.
5. Click 'Attach This File' and then hit 'Add Reply'.

Well, you haven't lost your touch - they are so pretty and ........ if I had to pick a fave, I'd go for 'Warship' as it's so smooth and I love the colors and the placement of the lines. Nice to have you back on here.

Many thankies to @EER for the May update
Also thank you's to @BB (I love the Plumb-bob) @HurryK and @Martin for their work.
I hope @EER that you didn't have any problems with the Earthquake just reported. I think you are on the North Island, so perhaps didn't feel it?
But ............ it sounded scary, especially so close to the one in Nepal .
