Craftonix, Paint.NET is exactly what you want. You just need to use layers. You don't even need Grim Color Reaper.
-
Also, Paint.NET is not a 3D rendering program. You need a professional.
-
As a designer, may I warn you against making a full-color image as your logo? You may want to consider reading some tutorials online for making a good, iconic logo. You want it to be reproducible at many sizes, and in color as well as black-and-white. That's why simple shapes and wordmarks make such excellent logos.
Check out the redesigns at http://underconsideration.com/brandnew for some ideas about what's considered "good" and "bad" logo design.

Hello.
Holding ctrl on your keyboard and then using your mouse wheel will zoom you in and out, also you will find zooming functions in the bottom right corner of paint.net 4.0.
You may have missed this reply while you were composing your own. I think this will help.
Incidentally, to link to a particular point in a video, you need to choose the "Share" tab on YouTube and check the "Start At" checkbox, then copy that url.

Noted. I'm not able to test it at work, but I could see why it would fail, so I've modified the original post. Thanks, Rickhum.

Awesome! Thanks for contributing. One thing to note, though; unless you expressly release all rights, you have implicitly retained all rights. That's just the way IP law in the USA works. Nice for creators, too.

This, a million times this. You're putting your data at risk, you're putting your computer at risk, and you're putting the internet at risk - your computer may already be being used as part of a botnet or DDoS attack. Do yourself and the rest of the world a favor, and upgrade your computer.now that XP support has ended, I would say - you can't afford not to upgrade.
Do you drink Starbucks? Brew some coffee at home for two weeks instead and protect your PC. Do you eat lunch or dinner at a fast food restaurant? Brown bag it for a week and make your life simpler. Honestly, I can't imagine that anyone with an ounce of self-control couldn't find a way to save up $70 and upgrade.
If you're running Windows XP, Paint.NET support is the least of your concern. Upgrade. Seriously. Before something terrible happens (and it will). Your computer is a ticking time bomb, and as NN said, you can't afford not to defuse it.

You could just upload it as a ZIP attachment to this post.
-
I use PNGs all the time. It might be because they were uploaded to Google Drive; I don't think Drive supports hotlinking. Try a different image host.
-
Pixey,
I think you mean "Reset to Default Palette." I believe "main palette" is one you created.
-
Barbie, you're much more generous than I would have been.
DarthAsylum, literally hundreds of thousands of people have downloaded this program with precisely zero problems. I myself have done it no less than six times. While there are several bugs of varying severity that have been reported (as with any new release), this one, to my recollection, has not been. If you are the only one who is having the problem, the problem might just be you.
I understand you're frustrated, but dropping the attitude will get you much better results. It'll only cause you problems in the future. You've been officially warned for both rudeness and cursing in the title; further infractions WILL result in a ban.
That said,
We'd love to help you get this sorted out. When you post the crash log, you might also want to let us know what sort of software you have running on your computers when Paint.NET crashes (such as antivirus software, desktop mods, etc.) that might be affecting this. Maybe there's a bad interaction here.

Very!IF this was to become an option, I'd like to see it work this way:
When autofinish is on, drawing something adds 2 entries to the history so that if you really didn't want to finish the thing you just drew you could press Ctrl-Z to "unfinish" it and make adjustments before finishing it.
How cool would that be?

You don't have Windows 7 Service Pack 1. Go to Windows Update and install it.
-
katlomas, I was really saying that for the benefit of other people who might happen upon this post.
I'm sorry that you're going to be unable to join users on Paint.NET 4. PDN 3.5.11 is still a great program.
-
Sorry. As has been noted several times, there are features in the new version that are simply not possible to do in older versions of Windows.I was so happy to see the latest release of PDN and then so VERY unhappy to find that the program will only run on Windows 7 or later. What about us poor dinosaurs who still run Vista, in my case, or even XP for others?
As a disabled person on a pension, I can afford neither a new computer nor to purchase Windows 7 to upgrade my system.
I think this is most unfair and deprives us of the new features available with this version.
Incidentally, if you're running Windows XP, you're in bad shape. Microsoft stopped supporting that this year; in the months to come, users of Windows XP are going to be attacked by so many viruses, attacks, and trojans that it's essentially like being on a leaking submarine. It's only a matter of time before the ship sinks.

Glad you got it working!

You're probably clicking an incorrect download link. Make sure you are on this page clicking this link:.

???
I've had no problems with hotkeys. What isn't working? We need specific repro steps.
-
Cheers, mate, works great!
But I stand by my remark that the cog thingy is too "hidden". Every single other production software has a "options" menu-choice, then why not Paint.net? This is a case of wanting to be different for the sake of being different. Totally unacceptable...
Uh, no. That's actually the way a lot of programs are going (Firefox, Chrome, IE, heck even Office uses a little icon nowadays).

Blanking all of your posts is very childish, Humility.
Also more than a little bit arrogant. Somewhat ironic, no?

Well, you don't have to resize the canvas - just insert transparent pixels in places that are removed. It's easy enough to shrink the canvas manually.
-
Indeed. "At your own risk" in this case largely means "you may lose track of or miss some features, and this plugin may stop working next release."
-
Ok, so this is a seriously awesome plugin. I'm moving it to the developer's section because - as has been noted - it doesn't follow the plugin publishing rules, and as such is not "done." Hopefully the developers in this subforum can help you bring it within the rules and release it as an awesome plugin!
