1st, change to a clearer subject for your thread.
1st image: If you made the background, use the same setting on a wilder canvas. Put your original image on a layer above.
2nd image: If you have the text on a different layer, you can use drop shadow or outline object plugin on the text.

Every time I get a upgrade on Paint.NET, they still have the same features. Nothing ever gets upgraded. What's up with that?
Even if that WAS true, you got to remember Rick is just one guy. :wink: It's amazing how far he has improved PdN.
Well, I kinda like to hear what he has to say. If anyone should have a say about my idea for Paint.NET, it should be Ricky himself.

I told you last time, I don't mind you giving me your opinion...
If you read my dA comment, you will see I was thinking of naming this "the inner light", So when you say you don't think it feels like metal, you were correct, no? And maybe that's the look and feel I wanted to convey?
And if I were to make metal, don't you think I would use more black, white, gray gradients. Instead of so much blue tones?
Unless it's painted with super shiny metallic blue paint....anyways.
So instead of always thinking how/why it's impossible, think about how/why it's possible. Yes? :idea: _ :idea:

Why is having white a must? There are more than 1 way of doing things and looking at thing.
Again, unless you know all the conditions and surroundings of the piece, you can not say such and such is always correct and others is not possible.

I like both of them, however the shadows of the mother ship are going many different directions which is quite strange. Does it make sense?
I don't know if you can fix it easily.
The sky and space background are also nicely done.

Have you tried add new layer, type your text, logo, watermark on the new layer.
Then Try either:
Lower the alpha/opacity of the text layer.
Or
Use Transparency plugin on text layer.
Or
Change text layer's blending modes.
You can use search to find the plugins and press the F1 key while using Paint.NET to learn all the basics.
We are here to help you learn, not do your work for you.
Read the forum rules. Read em all but look at #6 and #23 first.
