  1. Helen and CC, thank you so much for your lovely words and encouragement. I have another coming up soon, which I think you will both love
  2. Looking better everytime I see it Goon. Awesome job!
  3. Thank you so much for that and your time CC This is wonderful, it will take me a little time to grasp it all, but I will. I've copied the entire text and pics into word, so I can print it and read it while giving it a try. Truly grateful to you
  4. Scooter you are definitely in the wrong business, you should look into stand up comedy! There is nothing better I love, than to have a good laugh first thing in the morning! Thank you! and thank you for the wonderful compliments. I will be trying to diversify my stuff soon....
  5. Thank you CC, I think I understand that...basically. So if I duplicate it, is that a new layer or a new file? Once I've done that, copied it....okay I'm stuck. I'll wait for your example
  6. Thanks Barbie, those are good tips and yes it is the RAM I think, rather low as this compy is 12 years old Lol... I'm reading as much as I can absorb
  7. Thank you so much for your kind words Spectre. I did try a smaller arc, varying it around a little, but this one sort of made it stand out a little more so. As for the edge, I looked at some stock photos of planets etc (even artists ones) and yes, they all seem to have a glow to the edge, so a mistake on my part, but looks cool anyway. I'll look for it (bulge) and the other as well I do have those other plug ins, and I did use AA assistant, but I remember reading the tutorial and I should have done it a couple of times perhaps If only I could get my head out of Scifi, I might make something more earthy Lol....but thank you all the same, I really appreciate it. Oh, on the lighting, I cheated. Because the plug in here (the one that is supposed to copy PS lighting effects), crashed so I had to take it out. I did the whole pic, then had a friend of mine at the star behind the ship. The one around the planet is part of the stock photo.
  8. I know this topic is oldish, but I was guided to the plug in. So I tried it, followed the instructions to the letter...I think. What did I do wrong????
  9. I did both, might have to do it a couple of times maybe.
  10. new version, as you can see I'm still having some issues. The horizon didn't crop cleanly, even though I had an image with a white background to work with half size pic
  11. I did, you can see the results in my new album here. Doing a figure was worse. My dad thinks its my computer, the graphics card can't handle it or something
  12. did it again, it does work I still though get a very light white area around the image when pasted. I'll do it again and take a screen cap later ....thank you
  13. thank you Ego, I've downloaded both. I gave the Alpha one a quick go. It does give me a transparent background to the image. So, next step (apologies in advance, I am slow) how do I copy paste the image? Do I still need to use another tool to select the image on the transparent background?
  14. I will and thank you. I actually never thought of feathering Lol....
  15. I think I follow that....I'll try it thank you.... have most of those plug ins
  16. thank you Barbie, it was about time I did I know, but I have no idea how to do that at the moment. I have some ideas tho Well it was either that one or Brisbane Lol I have an idea for that to hahhahhaha
  17. thank you Doughty, I am going to do the planet one again new one, just for fun
  18. got it Skulls, tried it. Seems okay, but I need some practice with it. Still leaves some white edges
  19. thank you Dark, I thought of that, I probably should have used a less tropical stock photo in hindsight. I can do it again quite easily. How do I make the glow?
  20. really? Oh wow Helen that is awesome of you to say just repped you up
  21. Okay, so my friends pestered me, Mel, make a gallery. So here is my first and I know I need some serious help. But I do listen and I do appreciate any critique, as I have big shoulders I'll add more as I improve of course, but some tips for my starters would be great self added to SG1, its a new version of the one I did in PS as I was advised to do
  22. thanks for the great plug in. I used it and it works reasonably well. Although I may have missed something, as I still have some small white areas along the edges of my cut out? Do I need to adjust the settings on the Alpha Cutter tool panel?
  23. I have the same problem. So, firstly, the grim reaper plug in, if you choose white, it would remove all white wouldn't it? Like teeth and other details on a human figure. The Alpha Space, like I said earlier on another topic, I don't understand how that works at all? Could someone explain it step by step for a simpleton please.
