  1. Paint.NET never had native animation capability. There are plugins that extract and save the layers, and it is possible that the plugin you used is not supported by the current version of Paint.NET. Try this plugin to see if it does what you want it to do.
  2. There are usually four open windows on screen on each corner of the image area. Tools in the upper left, history in the upper right, colors in the lower left, and layers on the lower right. You may have closed these windows to keep them from blocking an image you were working on. You can go to Window->Reset window locations to bring them back up.
  3. I don't see doing this with realism without using a plugin, such as Alpha-Displacement.
  4. Do you have an example? The word line is simple, the real thing might be complex.
  5. There has to be an available image specification, and a filetype programmer willing to tackle the job. The problem is that the PTX extension can refer to different types of files.
  6. I would think that the prohibitive part would be not just writing out the various tools/effects/adjustments used in general, but also having to record the specific options used within them. That means any layer settings, magic wand tolerance . . . You might get a 1 gig text file describing how you managed to eke out a 150 px X 50 px image.
  7. Because that requires PDN to be omniscient in order to know which edits were required and which had no effect on the final product. I think omniscience is slated for V 5.0, but I'd have to look at the road map.
  8. Yes, the Extract Channel plug in can give you several channel options. For this I assume you would want CMYK, which this plug in does use. I hope you have it, it is in effects->color->extract channel. It may be part of one of the effect packs, explaining why I didn't find it in the plug in index. Add: Ah, the Ed Harvey Effect Pack for 3.5 has it. Of course, you would need to copy the original image into the proper number of layers and then run the effect on each layer. It takes a minute or so for four color layers.
  9. In addition, you also need to save in a format that supports transparency. PNG is probably the best format to use for this image. If you save it as JPG (which is the current format) you'll still have a white background.
  10. And you are discussing another program, perhaps?
  11. For simple jobs, you use the clone stamp. Complex backgrounds, though, require quite a bit more work that make clone stamping impractical.
  12. Not happening with me, XP SP 3. 1 G memory. No problems before, during, or after the installation. I keep wondering what I'm doing wrong to have so few problems with this software. LOL
  13. Blue screens have informative details as to what (possibly) caused the problem. Do you have the codes the screen displayed?
  14. You press the letter multiple times to cycle through the tools that that letter is assigned to activate.
  15. I think the problem is what you mean by "remembering" the setting from the previous use. Is that the current session? Is that remember it from the one time you used that function last year? Also, based on what you are saying, there is a context issue. You set one tool at 2, and want another at 15. Fine. Is that always true? Will you always want that tool to be at 15 when you use it? If not, then remembering the tool setting will become the problem next time. It doesn't actually make it an enhancement if it just forces a change of a value at a different time than it does now.
