Saving my images from Paint.net to a file

I am new to this program, but it looks really cool. When I save the photo and put in a file, later when I open the file is blank, it said no images.

Why is that, I have also try put in it on an existing file, but the same when I open it the photo from paint.net is not there.

Any suggestions

I don't know exactly what you mean. And it might be a semantic problem.

When you're saying "file," do you mean folder? (like this: Vista-my_documents.png)

That's called a "folder" in windows; the images themselves are called files.

Could you explain more clearly, please; maybe give a list of steps to be able to reproduce the problem?

The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.
Amy: But how did it end up in there?
The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.
River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.
