Bob
I got a problem updating RC1 to RC2 via the included updater. Just the DownloadAndUnzipUpdateDialog.Error.Generic error. Quote No. Way. Rick Brewster
Does it happen again if you retry? Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html
Bob
Yes, I retried several times. & I've XP_SP2 Firewall, Kaspersky 2006 Antivirus, and already download updates via the updater before. Rick Brewster
http://www.eecs.wsu.edu/paint.net/misc/pdn556.zip ^ Can you extract that to your installation directory? (it will overwrite PaintDotNet.exe) Then run the update again, and it should have extra error text on that dialog. Press Ctrl+C to copy that text to the clipboard, and then paste it here. That should help to give me a better idea of what's happening. Bob
Before seeing your message I download & install RC2 manually: "No updates availables". See your message & use your new build: "No updates..." Download and install manually RC1: Generic error Using your executable:"No updates..." Quote No. Way. I've just seen Bob. Bob
Always this generic "There was an error [...]. Please try again.", updating from 2.6 alpha 1 to 2.6 alpha 2. Quote No. Way. Rick Brewster
You'll probably have to manually download and install 2.6 Alpha 2 then.
