Chin Rey
This may be a silly question but I'm new to Paint.net and have searched everywhere without finding an answer: How do I remove the alpha channel from a png file? I make textures for Second Life so simply setting transparency to 0% won't work, I need to remove the alpha completely. Right now I use Gimp to do that but I'd much rather do all my image editing in paint.net of course.
Ishi
Try Alpha to 0 plugin by dpy. Its included on this plugin pack. http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/16643-dpys-plugin-pack-2014-05-04/
midora
Load the file and save it again but select 24 bits in the options. You will see in the preview that the image will be rendered against a white background. If you need a different background color then - add a layer in the expected color below of you image layer - flatten the image - save as png.
Chin Rey
Thanks a lot, Ishi and midora! I guess the 24 bit answer is what I needed for this but those plugins... wow! Time for me to put Gimp to rest for good and focus on a user friendly graphics program from now on.
