I just logged on here to ask for tips about removing backgrund from a photo and found out you guys had answered even before I asked!

Thanks a lot, Ishi and midora! I guess the 24 bit answer is what I needed for this but those plugins... wow! Time for me to put Gimp to rest for good and focus on a user friendly graphics program from now on.

This may be a silly question but I'm new to Paint.net and have searched everywhere without finding an answer: How do I remove the alpha channel from a png file? I make textures for Second Life so simply setting transparency to 0% won't work, I need to remove the alpha completely. Right now I use Gimp to do that but I'd much rather do all my image editing in paint.net of course.
