PressAnyKey
Looking at the above image as an example: I created the green rounded rectangle, then decided I would like it to be shorter I selected the green rounded rectangle I then dragged it down to the correct size displayed in pink and brown (I realize that in this instance the brown off the image, but I cannot make this work in the center of an image either) How do I say "OK"? How do I set the pink and brown sized shape and delete the larger green one? second question: How do I select type? Can I change font, size, or color without actually recreating the text? Thanks from a newbie
Sarkut
Always put each element on its own new layer. That way you can delete or edit it later if you need to. Once text has been finalized it can be edited only as image (Pixels).
himself22
Are you using layers? If not, it's going to be harder. If the green one's on a different layer, than delete that layer. To type, click on the big "T" in the toolbar and click where you want to type in the image. Go here for help. Type your text, and then change the font at the font box at the top, and to change colors, use the color wheel. Size is by the font box. Is that what you mean? I can insert text and I understand layers. I am wondering if I can change color, font, size later. For example, can I select existing text later and change its font? Or do I have to recreate the text on a new layer in the new font?
PressAnyKey
Are you using layers? If not, it's going to be harder. If the green one's on a different layer, than delete that layer. The green one is the original I was trying to adjust. The pink one is the green one shrunk down. The handles you see are from the green one. I dragged the green one's handle to shrink it. The pink/brown one is the actually the green one shrunk. They are both on the same layer as they are both the same object. Here's a new question: If I have a rectangle that I would like to shrink, what are the steps?
himself22
For the text, after you've deselected the text, you can't edit it unless you use this. Next, if you want to edit the square, select it (using the magic wand), and then use to move it, and use the handles on the corners change the size. To "set" it simply deselect it. And to delete the green square use the magic wand to select it delete it, if there is any leftovers, I would use this.
