How to make my signature darker and thicker?

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

This is the first time I ever use the paint.net. Hard to believe it's free of charge!

Anyway, I need to send out a document with my signature on it. The doc was a pdf doc and I have converted it to a PNG file. BTW I could convert it to JPEG, BMP, PNG and TIFF. The doc is black and white and only texts, no pictures. Which format has the best quality?

Then I signed my sig on a white paper and took a picture with my camera. Then I uploaded it to my PC. The sig picture is JPEG format. I have also converted it to PNG file to make it the same as the doc...

Then I made the backgroup transparent (with the Magic Wand) and changed the contrast and brightess both to lowest to make the signature itself as black and clear as possible.

However the sig's size is too big comparing to the field on the doc. When I decrease the size of the sig it becomes very light and obscure... I used Image -> Resize to resize the sig picture and paste it as a new layer in the doc png file... I think it's because a lot pixels (92%) were lost durring the resize. I am wondering if there is a way to make it darker again??

I will also attach my sig here. I need it to be only 8% of original size...

Thanks a lot!

huntkey,

Try this:

Starting with the full-sized image in your attachment.

True Blur Radius: 2.0 (Default)

Duplicate Layer, Merge layers.

Again.

Resize to 8%.

Again.

Save as PNG.

See whether you like the result.

You guys are awesome! APShredder: man that's too much work! I'd rather try sign twice on the paper lol. Sarkut: That's really a tricky way! My sig after the change actually looks more beautiful than before lol. I'm just worried if it will be too much away from the original sig and people don't recognize... csm725: your way wins the highest score! (even I had to download and figure out how to install a plugin) Thanks all for help!
