Text selection.

Recommended Posts

I have a dumb question. :)

When you've added some text to an image, and you move on to another tool, is there any way to go back and select that text entry so that it can be edited? When I try to just click on it with the text tool, it just adds another new text entry.

Thanks!

Do you mean if you type a word & then discover a spelling error & you want to fix it?

If the text is on a layer of its own you can delete that layer & re-do the text or you can select the section of text to be edited & delete it but I haven't found a way of fixing like you can in a word processor.

BTW - not a dumb question at all. One of the four secrets to learning is asking questions.

Good luck with your image!

There isn't a way to re-edit text that's already been placed. Once you click away, it's there forever. So I recommend placing it on a different layer, as barbieq25 said. :-)

The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.
Amy: But how did it end up in there?
The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.
River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.
