How Do You Set A Default Save Format?

Recommended Posts

Oftentimes, I'll download an image from the internet, which I will then edit. Sometimes, these images are gifs, bmps, what have you. I want to save them to jpeg format but sometimes I'll forget before transfering them to my personal media player (which doesn't support gifs).

Is there a way to set the default save format to jpeg?

There is no way to do this. Paint.NET automatically defaults to .PNG (flattened) or .PDN (layered).

The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.
Amy: But how did it end up in there?
The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.
River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.

Can we suggest this as an option for the next release? I too save almost everything in Jpeg and would like to be able to set that as the default.

I second this suggestion. The ability to set a preference to save as Jpeg (or whatever) as default would be a BIG PLUS in my book. I'm sure lots of other users would welcome it as well.

Agree that this is an desired feature request; it will save me much time in my work if it was available. How hard could it be to add it?

And while we're looking gift horses in the mouth, I would love to see some form of macro playback or batch editing feature added as well... ;^)
